2023.07.01 Saints Game

We had a wonderful evening at the St. Paul Saints!  Thank you to the Saints for being gracious hosts and to the very talented crew at A Touch of Magic Entertainment!

Most of all THANK YOU to our sponsors to giving our Foster Community the opportunity to connect with each other & enjoy a unique outing with their family!

Sponsors, what did your money go towards you ask??

  • Baseball Tickets & Seating in the Multi-tiered, Secured Treasure Island Terrace for 21 Families
  • All You Can Eat Picnic Dinner
    • Fried Chicken
    • Applewood Smoked Pork Ribs
    • Sweet Corn
    • Potato Salad
    • Mac & Cheese
    • Watermelon
    • Cucumber Salad
    • Calico Beans
    • Water & Soda Options
  • Face Painting & Balloon Artistry
  • 4th of July Goodie Bags

One of the more frequent comments we received throughout the night was that a baseball game is not always practical.  SOOO….just for fun, we wanted to see what that would look like for an average family size of 6:

  • 1 ticket estimated at $39
  • 1 big pretzel estimated at $8 (no tip)
  • 1 water estimated at $3

Total Cost estimated at $50 / guest or $300 for a family of 6 (without parking) WOW!

That sounds great but what did the families have to say?

We are so grateful for last night! It was such a treat! The cute bags were an added special touch Thank you for all you do!!!!

Thank you so much for this amazing family event. As a family of 10 currently this isn’t something we could likely pull off on our own. With your generosity our 4 foster children got an experience they may never have again.  My entire family looks forward to this event and we are so grateful for “It Takes One”.  You truly are making a difference in foster families lives!! Thank you!!!

Our family had SO much fun at this event. As foster parents we are SO VERY thankful for this opportunity as it often gets quite spendy anytime we go out as a family of 7. Our foster children-as well as us parents- had an absolute blast. The kids loved their face paintings. One of our children said, “I feel so pretty!” And the other was in awe of how great the artist was. The balloon artist was hilarious, and we all enjoyed the delicious food. The 4th of July goodie bag was a big hit with our kids, too! Our children’s ages range from 4-15 and they all had a blast. This type of experience isn’t something most of our children get to have with their bio-families so for many of them it was their first time at a baseball game, too! Thank you SO much for this wonderful night out, we cannot thank you enough!

Thank you for a wonderful night. I was unable to post to your page but wanted to share a couple pictures. It was such an encouragement to take our kids (foster and bio) to something special.

The feedback we received is what keeps us going!

We are looking forward to continuing our efforts to be an avenue for our Foster Families to meet other Foster Families and for the families themselves to set aside all of life’s obstacles for a short while & focus on / create joyous memories through fun opportunities & experiences!
